Toward the end of March, seasons of big, red and sweet strawberry from US is almost come to the end. The taste of them is not as good and sweet as ealier, but they do still smell good! The best way of making something from strawberry at this time is to cook my beloved “Strawberry Jam” which I can eat that with my breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner.
Rose is always the best partner of strawberry, adding some rose petal and paste into the jam making it’s smell more “attractive”. This step I will never skip, believe me, if you do love rose, put in some and you will love it!
What’s more! Probably some scones to come with the jam will make your days more beautiful. I have trying out this recipe from my friend, it is soft and nice and easy to make.
Strawberry Rose Jam
650g Fresh Strawberries
250g Sugar
1 Lemon, zested and pureed to get juice
English Scones
35g Butter
115g Cake flour
6g Baking powder
1/2 tsp Salt
25g Eggs
65g Crème Fraîche
